About the Training Center

The Sesame Training Center is located on the second and third floors of a three-story 1860's brick building in Garrettsville, Ohio. During its long history, this building has been put to good use, including serving for a time as the home of a branch of the Independent Order of Oddfellows and Rebekah Lodge. Located near the lovely college town of Hiram, Ohio, this area includes many attractions including parks, golfing, antiques, shopping and Geauga Lake. The back windows overlook a scenic Eagle Creek waterfall and historic Garrett's Mill and restaurant is right next door.

About the Trainer

Erika Yoxall grew up in South Florida where she attended performing arts and technical stage management school and toured with the Big Apple Circus. After marrying an elephant trainer and moving to northeastern Ohio in the early 90's, Erika found new opportunities with a manufacturing company. With a knack for software, and armed with little more than Q&A and a desire to reap the benefits of automation, she was soon tracking the company's key systems in database applications of her making. With an additional knack for communicating technical know-how in plain English, Erika published more than 40 articles in The Quick Answer through 2002, and continues to write regularly for the monthly Inside Sesame newsletter. In 1996, Erika started her own software company, Hammer Data Systems. She was instrumental in the founding of Lantica Software in 2000 and has served as its technical coordinator ever since. In addition to her responsibilities on the Lantica Board of Directors, Erika also served as the primary designer and lead programmer for Sesame's Form and Report Designer. Erika's informative and spirited presentations at both the 2001 Q&A Conference (where Sesame was introduced) and the 2004 Sesame Users Conference earned high praise from attendees, novice and expert alike. Today, Erika is knowledgeable across a broad spectrum of database products and applications as well as conversant in a host of modern programming and scripting languages. Equally at home in front of a large audience or leading a small group, no one knows how to use all of Sesame - and make Sesame easier to use - more than she.
