"Sesame Training Center" Survey Form

Sesame Training Center schedule is preparing to set the 2006 schedule. Hammer Data Systems will continue to offer a series of 1-2 day training seminars designed to help people learn, use and work with Sesame Database Manager (a Lantica Software product).

All the classes will be kept small (maximum 12 people) to ensure personalized attention for each attendee. Most of the classes are "hands-on" workshops. In all cases, the attendees will receive detailed materials covering the seminar topic including coursebooks and sample applications. Classes will be be priced at $249 per day with discounts for multiple attendees and/or multiple days.

In order to make sure that we are providing the classes you need, we would appreciate your answers to the survey questions below. Note that none of your information will be sold or used for any other purpose than to evaluate your interest in Sesame Training and to notify you about available classes.

Application Design (Beginner - Intermediate)
Hands-On workshop in which attendees explore the tools provided by SDesigner, then design and build a simple Sesame application. Application includes a Form with common programming and a basic Report.
Application Design (Intermediate - Advanced)
Hands-On two day workshop in which attendees design and build a Sesame application using advanced concepts. Application includes Forms with more advanced programming (like form validation and automation), Subforms, and Reports making use of more advanced features.
Creating Sesame Reports (Beginner - Intermediate)
Hands-On workshop in which attendees will learn how to create, save and run basic Sesame columnar and freeform reports, including subcalculations and derived/calculated columns. This course also includes the addition of common cosmetic elements like spacing, fonts and lines.
Creating Sesame Reports (Intermediate - Advanced)
Hands-On workshop in which attendees will learn how to use the advanced features of Sesame reports including on-the-fly changes, multiple views, programming and advanced cosmetics to create robust, informative and eye-catching output. Also covers use of generated Sesame reports in external applications like Word, Excel and email programs.
Programming Sesame (Beginner - Intermediate)
Hands-On workshop in which attendees will learn the basics of programming in Sesame for use in Forms and Mass Updates by programming an actual application of the coourse of the day. This class covers the Program Editor, basic programming concepts, and practical examples of common programming tasks, such as warning messages, popup lists, lookups and calculations. This class also covers how to read Sesame programming for the purpose of adapting examples for your own use.
Programming Sesame (Intermediate - Advanced)
Attendees will learn how to make full use of SBasic (Sesame's programming language). This comprehensive two day course covers general programming concepts and also demonstrates specific uses and techniques for SBasic programming features.
Sesame on A Network
Covers client-server setup and operation. Includes installation procedures, configuration options and troubleshooting information.
Translating Your Q&A databases
Hands-On workshop in which attendees will translate a Q&A database into a working Sesame application. Includes both pre-translation steps and post-translation steps. Attendees will learn how to prepare Q&A databases for translation, translate the databases, perform a simple cosmetic cleanup, locate and fix errors, and clean up reports.
Integrating Sesame With Other Programs
Covers using Sesame in combination with other programs, including Word, Access, Excel, WordPerfect and QuickBooks. Topics include mail merge techniques, data transfers and ODBC.
Bring Your Own Application
Specially scheduled sessions limited to a few attendees in which indivduals may bring the application on which they are currently working for specific individualized help and problem solving.
